Littleton Future Business Leaders of America attended the 39th annual State Leadership Conference in Manchester NH on March 31 and April 1. Fourteen members represented Littleton and competed in several team events as well as chapter events.
The chapter placed first in Local Chapter Annual Business Report and FBLA Promotion Week. The members placed second in the Local Chapter Exhibit and the Local Chapter Scrapbook, along with placing third in the Can Tabs Drive supporting David's House and Partnership with a Business Project. Littleton was also recognized as an Honor Chapter and is the Most Outstanding Chapter for NH.
Tyler Ash, Allison Marsh, and Thomas Quillin placed first with distinction in Emerging Business Issues. The team had to create both a "pro" and "con" argument for businesses who are thinking about going green. "With Distinction" is given to an individual or team who receives a 90% or better in their competitive event.
Becky Abbott and Kendra Bailey placed first in Digital Video Production. The members had to create a promotional video for the 2012 National Leadership Conference in San Antonio, Texas.
Sarah Bean, Kally Lavoie, and Manuel Sosa placed first in e-Business by creating an online school store with the goal of boosting school spirit.
Ryan Hayward also placed first in Digital Design and Promotion. Ryan had to design an original logo and tag line to reflect the mission and purpose of FBLA.
Tasha Favreau and Heather Fillion placed second in Business Presentation. This team had to create a presentation illustrating the benefits of businesses using social networks and social media to communicate with clients.
Dori Horne and Sydney Pinard placed second in Web Page Development in which they had to create a web site to help students learn more information regarding internships and job shadows for their school.
Hunter Ruddock, of Lisbon, placed second in Computer Game and Simulation Programming. Hunter designed an entertaining simulation/game illustrating traveling from Chicago to Orlando. Questions were created relating to financial literacy. Some of the members also received scholarships from Southern NH University. The Littleton chapter placed in every event they competed in or submitted work for. The chapter is currently planning fundraisers for their national trip to Orlando Florida in June.
