End of the year

Jun 22, 2018
The school year has ended, and LHS spring sports have come to an end. The Softball, tennis, and baseball seasons have come to an end. The Littleton High School Softball team made it to the first round of the NHIAA playoffs, but sadly lost to Wilton in their first and only game of the tournament. Hopefully they are able to build off from this season and make a good run into the tournament next year.

The Littleton High School Baseball team on the other hand ended up winning their first round game against Hopkinton. It was a tight game, back and forth through the whole game. The game went into extra innings and in the bottom of the ninth with the game tied 9-9, Nick Sanborn had a walk off hit to win the game and advance the Crusaders into the final four.

In the next round Littleton would face off against Wilton. Littleton started the game off early with a couple of runs, and then after holding off Wilton, they ended up getting the bases loaded with Quinton Ross coming up. First pitch of the at bat and Quinton hit a grand slam to send the Crusaders up 9-2. The Crusaders then coasted for the rest of the game and ended up winning with a final score of 9-4. After this game Newmarket defeated Pittsfield to face Littleton in the Championship game.

The Championship game was set and to be played at Delta Dental Stadium in Manchester.
Littleton traveled all the way to Manchester Saturday, June 9th.Even with the seniors just graduating in the morning, the team was focused on winning this last game. In the first few innings there was a sense of nervousness, until Danny Kubkowski came up with a clutch triple to put the Crusaders up. He would later score again to make the score 3-1. After this the Crusaders cruised through the game with Newmarket only ending up with 3 hits. The Littleton Crusaders were once again Division 4 Baseball State Champions. The Crusaders had won the state championship back in 2016 as well. Winning this year was a great way for the seniors to end their career as a Littleton Crusader.

The Littleton boys soccer team lost to the Profile high school Patriots 2-0 in Hooksett, NH for the soccer state championship Saturday November 4. The boys soccer team traveled down to Southern New Hampshire University to play on their field against Profile High school in the division 4 state championship. The Profile soccer team had been on a tear recently winning everything and playing exceptionally well. Littleton came into the game with just recently beating undefeated Portsmouth Christian Academy in an extremely close game.

Profile came out and scored early with a big goal from off the head of Hanzin Hunt. The rest of the first half went scoreless and was a struggle for both sides. The Crusaders came out of halftime with a will to win, as Danny Kubkowski scored on a beautiful shot but, there was an offsides call and the tying goal was overturned. A heartbreaking mishap and made the game remain 1-0 in Profiles favor. As the second half went on and there was getting to be less, and less time left in the game, a miskick from a Littleton defender set up Profile goal and that was the dagger that killed the Littleton team. They now needed to score 2 goals with less than 20 minutes to play. There were no goals scored from either side for the rest of the game and Littleton had once again lost in the soccer championship.
