End of the year

Jun 22, 2018
The school year has ended, and LHS spring sports have come to an end. The Softball, tennis, and baseball seasons have come to an end. The Littleton High School Softball team made it to the first round of the NHIAA playoffs, but sadly lost to Wilton in their first and only game of the tournament. Hopefully they are able to build off from this season and make a good run into the tournament next year.

The Littleton High School Baseball team on the other hand ended up winning their first round game against Hopkinton. It was a tight game, back and forth through the whole game. The game went into extra innings and in the bottom of the ninth with the game tied 9-9, Nick Sanborn had a walk off hit to win the game and advance the Crusaders into the final four.

In the next round Littleton would face off against Wilton. Littleton started the game off early with a couple of runs, and then after holding off Wilton, they ended up getting the bases loaded with Quinton Ross coming up. First pitch of the at bat and Quinton hit a grand slam to send the Crusaders up 9-2. The Crusaders then coasted for the rest of the game and ended up winning with a final score of 9-4. After this game Newmarket defeated Pittsfield to face Littleton in the Championship game.

The Championship game was set and to be played at Delta Dental Stadium in Manchester.
Littleton traveled all the way to Manchester Saturday, June 9th.Even with the seniors just graduating in the morning, the team was focused on winning this last game. In the first few innings there was a sense of nervousness, until Danny Kubkowski came up with a clutch triple to put the Crusaders up. He would later score again to make the score 3-1. After this the Crusaders cruised through the game with Newmarket only ending up with 3 hits. The Littleton Crusaders were once again Division 4 Baseball State Champions. The Crusaders had won the state championship back in 2016 as well. Winning this year was a great way for the seniors to end their career as a Littleton Crusader.

Littleton High School girls varsity started off their season December 1st with a wonderful game. The Moultonborough Academy Panthers came up to Littleton to play their first game on the road against the Crusaders. The game was a relatively good game with the Lady Crusaders dominating the pace of the game and making it easy for themselves to put pressure on Moultonborough to make mistakes. It was an impressive performance with the Lady Crusaders coming out on top 59 to 32.

Both Littleton varsity basketball teams made the trip to Newmarket December 8th, this being the girls second game and the boys first game. The boys competed for the entire game but ultimately fell short within the last few quarters of the game losing 61-49. It was a close game that Littleton had a real shot at winning. The girls really took it to Newmarket, taking care of business with a solid final score of 55-25 with a great defense being played all around. The Lady Crusaders look to continue their winning streak, and the boys look to start one their next game at home against the Lisbon Panthers on December 14.
