Sr. Plant Manager

The Senior Plant Manager will be accountable for assisting the Plant Director in executing the business plan for the Foundry operations. Will have overall supervisory responsibility for all shift operations providing leadership and fostering an atmosphere of teamwork, safety and continuous improvement.

Establishes production and quality control standards, develops budget and cost controls, establishes production priorities
Executes safe work practices as the highest priority with focus on ergonomics, health and safety and housekeeping
Responsible for improving OEE of the Foundry operations
Use internal and external VOC to analyze/improve processes and apply root cause problem solving methods to all functions.
Plans and directs production activities and establishes production priorities for products in keeping with effective
operations and cost factors
Provides leadership and strategies required to develop a culture focused on continuous improvement, safety, quality and meeting customer requirements
Motivate, train and develop employees to effectively perform their jobs utilizing standardized methods
Act as a mentor for other supervisors and leaders in the organization
Communicate between shifts, departmental areas and other departments to implement best practices, resolve problems and sustain consistent performance to objectives
Achieve production schedules and product requirements by applying Lean manufacturing/ synchronous principles with emphasis on variation reduction
Maintains fair and consistent application of all company policies and procedures.
Perform routine housekeeping to ensure area operates within parameters that conform to environmental and safety standards.
Must wear all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and abide by safety rules.
Must report any job related injury and/or illness immediately to your direct supervisor.
Must maintain attendance and punctuality standards as established by company.
Perform other duties as may be assigned.

Bachelor's degree from four-year college plus a minimum of 10 years related experience in a leadership role in a Foundry manufacturing organization.
Technically strong, previous engineering experience preferred.
Demonstrated experience in Lean Manufacturing and related tools. Familiar with PPAPs, Kaizens, Kanbans, etc
Demonstrated high level of interpersonal skills to effectively lead, motivate and facilitate others. Proficiency in team building and ability to create an environment that promotes leadership and accountability
Demonstrated high level analytical ability to assess and identify appropriate alternative courses of action for definition and resolution of problems that are unique and diverse
Must have working knowledge of manufacturing operating systems and software; good command of Microsoft Office Suite.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to walk, talk, and/or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand, sit, and use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee must lift and/or move up to 40 pounds alone, 80 lbs. with assistance. Specific vision abilities required by this job include: close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
