SHIPPING AND RECEIVING-1st Shift Laconia Area

POSITION SUMMARY: To maintain production materials in inventory, distribution of product by pulling orders from inventory, delivering production materials and supplies and staging finished product as required.

INITIATVE AND INGENUITY:
1.Use of some judgment to plan, perform and make decisions as to the sequences of jobs performed, operations and processes to be utilized to ensure correct materials utilized.
2.Provide suggestions to improve inventory control procedures.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1.Perform receipt of materials into inventory in an expeditious manner.
2.Verify and pull required materials per process sheets and issue to departments as necessary.
3.Maintain accurate inventory of materials.
4.Allocate available raw material to specific factory order.
5.Assist with necessary recycling functions, including, but not limited to the emptying of recycling bins and the wrapping, strapping and weighing of pallets.
6.Report any problems or issues to the Shipping/Receiving Lead Person.
7.Proper handling of all parts, material and equipment to prevent damage and loss of finished product.

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:
1.Must be willing to work throughout production and perform all other related duties as required.
2.Process factory order through Inventory Control accurately and with minimum delay.
3.Release from inventory correct materials in timely manner for processing, which would include “drops” whenever possible.
4.Maintain accurate inventory counts, inventory locations and perform random cycle counts as required.
5.Maintain receiving and inventory areas in a state of good housekeeping.
MINIMUM JOB QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
1.EDUCATION: High School diploma or equivalent.
2.EXPERIENCE: 1 to 3 years experience required to be proficient in materials identification.
3.LICNESES, CERTIFICATIONS AND/OR REGISTRATIONS: Valid drivers license.

4.OTHER MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Strong organizational and computer skills. Extensive knowledge of materials and inventory procedures. Able to utilize verniers, micrometers and steel rule.

PHYSICAL, MENTAL AND VISUAL SKILLS REQUIRED:
1.Must concentrate mentally and visually on the task at hand to prevent erroneous input causing errors that may not be identified through subsequent procedures.
2.Requires frequent bending, reaching, standing, walking and sitting.
3.Requires continuous lifting of 10 lbs. – 35 lbs.
4.Requires frequent lifting of 36 lbs. – 75 lbs.
5.Requires occasional lifting of 76+ lbs. – requires the use of 2 people.
WORKING CONDITIONS AND SAFETY REQUIREMENTS:
1.Exposed to noise and dust, but not beyond acceptable limits.
2.Safety glasses required when in production areas.
3.Hearing protection not required, but strongly recommended.
4.Safety shoes required.

5.Proper ergonomic practices and safety procedures must be utilized at all times.
6.Caution and safety procedures must be utilized when operating fork truck in proximity to other employees or equipment.
7.Adherence to all OSHA regulations and Employee Safety Manual is required.
