Leadperson Maintenance-1st Shift - Laconia Area

Assist the Maintenance Supervisor with coordinating job functions and activities of maintenance mechanics. Assist wherever needed by assigning duties, giving instructions, training associates, answering questions, troubleshooting and repairing plant equipment and systems. Maintain standards in order to insure minimum production loss while maintaining high quality standards.

Coordinate work assignments with the Maintenance Supervisor based on production demands and status of work in process.
Assign work to associates utilizing established procedures and guidelines for work requested.
Utilize proper judgment and initiative to establish priorities and plan the work of others. Periodic review is required to insure that projects are being worked on properly and being completed in a timely fashion.
Assist associates in identifying and resolving technical problems with plant equipment.
Troubleshoot plant equipment and systems using technical manuals, electrical schematics and blueprints, tools and diagnostic equipment and/or consulting with factory service representatives as required.
Perform maintenance and repairs, major overhauls and rebuilds on plant equipment and systems.
Assist maintenance supervisor in planning and execution of equipment upgrades and major repairs and rebuilds.
Identify electrical and mechanical replacement parts to be ordered and assist in contacting vendors for pricing and availability as required.
Must comply with all safety rules and regulations for each machine concerning lock-out/Tag-out, etc. Extreme care must be exercised in disabling all potential energy sources and caution must be exercised in the start-up and cycling of equipment.
Perform routine housekeeping to ensure area operates within parameters that conform to environmental and safety standards.
Must wear all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and abide by safety rules.
Must report any job related injury and/or illness immediately to your direct supervisor.
Must maintain attendance and punctuality standards as established by company.
Perform other duties as may be assigned.

High School Diploma or GED required. Technical associates degree preferred.Five to seven years of diversified maintenance experience comprised on machine repair, plumbing, heating, air conditioning, electrical control systems and general building repair and maintenance.Broad knowledge of a wide variety of machinery and equipment, as well as many different processes.Requires strong interpersonal skills and leadership abilities in a fast-paced high volume operation. Requires supervisory skills and must know the basics for good associate relations.Ability to make quick decisions under adverse conditions, such as equipment failures, power outages, and the loss of air, water, heat, or electrical service. Must have a thorough knowledge of all phases of work and procedures within the department, including all plant equipment; with ability to read electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic schematics and be capable of interpreting equipment manuals.

Responsible for leading a group of five to ten associates. Provides direct input to supervisor regarding associate performance reviews.Ensure company policies are followed.Enforce company safety policies.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to walk, talk, and/or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand, sit, and use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds alone and 80 lbs. with assistance. Specific vision abilities required by this job include: close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Work in manufacturing environment. Exposed to normal factory environment with oil, grease, and messing working conditions.
