Production Expediter

POSITION SUMMARY:

Provide adequate work to various workstations to maintain usage of equipment while meeting assigned shipping schedules.

INITIATIVE AND INGENUITY:

Use of some judgment to comply with instructions, prescribed routines, methods or practices related to the daily production schedule.

Make suggestions with regard to scheduling to ensure maximum equipment/personnel utilization.

Provide suggestions to improve operations.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Review production schedule on a daily basis.

Monitor flow of finished product through Final Inspection and establish shipping priorities as required.

Ensure adequate flow of work and assign job priorities with departmental supervisors and lead persons.

Maintain status of all in-process jobs in production.

Report any quality or production issue to supervisor.

Complete all required reports in a timely manner.

Proper handling of all material, parts and equipment to prevent damage and loss of finished product.

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:

Must be willing to work throughout production and perform all other related duties as required.

Expediting orders and schedule changes when required.

Interface with production supervisors, lead persons, QC, shipping and other individuals as required.

MINIMUM JOB QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

EDUCATION: High School diploma or equivalent.

EXPEREINCE: 6 months shop floor experience in either a production or production control environment.

LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS AND/OR REGISTRATIONS: None

OTHER MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: None

PHYSICAL, MENTAL AND VISUAL REQUIREMENTS:

Requires continuous lifting of 1 lb. - 15 lbs.

Requires frequent lifting of 16 lbs. - 50 lbs.

Requires occasional lifting of 51+ lbs.

Continuous mental and visual attention to detail required.

WORKING CONDITIONS AND SAFETY REQUIREMENTS:

Exposed to dust and noise, but not beyond acceptable limits.

Safety glasses required when in production areas.

Hearing protection not required, but strongly recommended.

Proper ergonomic practices must be used at all times.

Caution and safety procedures must be utilized when operating forklift or pallet jacks.

Adherence to all OSHA regulations and the Employee Safety Manual is required.
